European Poker Upset
Introduction
Day three of the current European Tour event at the Casino Barcelona, Spain, saw an element of controversy between Roland de Wolfe and Tobbias Reinkemeier. The day started quietly enough with Canadian Matt Lapossie leading the then 72 tournament poker players with 700,300 chips, well over 100,000 up on his nearest rival. With Roland de Wolfe making the early running it seemed as if he would easily lead the tournament at the end of the day, only to be almost stopped in his tracks a few hours later.
Keep your hands out of the muck!

Throw something in the muck pile and what can you expect?
To mix metaphors for a moment – de Wolfe came unstuck when he threw a hand into the muck pile. With only a King high de Wolfe bet on the river and was promptly called by Reinkemeier. At this point de Wolfe said what he had but wouldn’t show his hand to Reinkemeier, who quite rightly wanted to see it. de Woolfe, after showing the King, threw his hand into the muck pile at which point Reinkemeier showed and won with a simple Queen high! At this point de Woolfe suddenly decided that his hand was still live. Tournament staff were called to adjudicate and, quite rightly, ruled for Reinkemeier, awarding the pot to him.
Through to day 4
Whilst de Wolfe made it through to day 4, Reinkemeier fell off as the third day played on and failed to make day 4. Despite not holding on to his leading position Lapossie only slipped back to second place with 1.6 million chips, with George Kapalas winning a couple of massive pots to end the day with 1.7 million chips. Matt Lapossie is one of four PokerStars online qualifiers to make it through to day four and has a very good chance of being there for the final table.
